A recurring trend at firesides.

I would like to use this blog post to tell/show all of you about something that makes me extremely mad, i try not to use the word "pissed" anymore. Last night was yet another great CES fireside, this time the speaker was none other than the President of the church himself, Thomas S. Monson. The place was packed! That was one of the first things to bother me. I don't like how everybody bases weather they go to the ces firesides on who is speaking that night. BUT two things really, really bothered me last night.

First was picture taking. I felt like i was at a sporting event. I don't know why anyone would take pictures of the prophet WHILE HE WAS SPEAKING. It was a meeting, a fireside, that stated with a prayer...people do we not see the problem here? I couldn't believe it. Mormons are sooo stupid. If you want a picture of President Monson download one off the internet, this is why they have professional photographers at events like this. (you know, like the guy who took my picture that ended up in the ensign :) I can't imagine the pictures these people were taking will turn out very well, a 5 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, in a dark room from 50 rows up, wont work very well!!!!!!

Second, people leaving early!!!! aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! I don't even have words to express how mad this makes me! a common phenomenon in Provo these days is to leave right when the speaker finishes speaking, you know, before the closing prayer! I can only assume so they can beat traffic? Last night, right after President Monson finished speaking a guy two rows in front of me got up and started walking out. As he was making his was to the aisle I said, quite loudly, so he and the people in our section could hear me, "what is this? a football game?" I sure hope he was embarrassed. I can't imagine having such a tight schedule on a sunday night that I had to leave a fireside before it REALLY ended.

ok I think i'm done for now...
