the worst.

Today might have been the worst day of my life. It started off all dandy and sweet, cousin Bryson and I went to Park City Mountain Resort to do some skiing, snowboarding for him. The snow was much better than expected, powder in the face is always good. Then tragedy struck! (don't worry we are both physically ok) So, i'm skiing along, quite fast, down a double black, powder going everywhere. I decided to split two trees, kind of two big bush things. I go between them and one of my skis catches on a twig! I tumble forward, a ski pops off, i do somersaults for 30 ft. Get up a little ticked that I had fallen! I don't fall! I look up the hill to see how far I have to hike up to get my ski that fell off, but I can't see it. So I hike up and use my other ski to prod the snow to find my other ski. I STILL can't find it! It had never taken me more than two minutes to find a buried ski before. Bryson and I looked for about an hour. We dug through sooooo much snow! He goes and gets ski patrol. Another hour passes and we still can't find it. Ski Patrol guy goes and gets a metal detector...nothing. Ski Patrol guy tells us its 3:45 and we have to get off the mountain. I AM NOT HAPPY at this point! Needless to say I came home with one ski!

I admit tears DID come out of my eyes, more than once today! I'm still depressed. Now, to make things MUCH worse, I bought those skis last week, because I broke my other pair a week and a half ago!! (I did get a good deal from the company because my other skis broke) I loved my new skis, their time with me has been far too short, they were beautiful see! Now i'm thinking that my ski, while I was flipping, slid down into the little ravine at the bottom of the run. I was almost to the ravine when I crashed, so I think it's down there somewhere. If it did slide to the bottom it is probably under only an inch or two of snow, so i'm hoping that someone skis into it tomorrow. If I have any hope to find it before spring I have to find it before it snows again. I will go search for it ASAP. Maybe not tomorrow, because it's Sunday.

However, when you realize that the worst day of your life consisted of you losing a ski, a beautiful ski, then maybe your life isn't half as bad as you might think it is. It's not like something really bad happened, items can be replaced, I got a huge tax return this year, i'll buy another pair, I would rather do other stuff with my money, it's just frustrating!

p.s. I wasn't even kidding when I said I cried a little, i'm on the verge of tears right now!

It's a depressing thing to lose stuff! Hopefully someone will find it and turn it in.

Tanner! It was so fun to see you and Bryson had a great time with you up until the LOSS OF THE SKI. Hope it turns up soon.

I thought your eyes looked a little misty when I saw you. I just thought it was because you were so happy to see us that it nearly brought you to tears. No really that is pretty sucky what happened to your ski. I bet it's lonely up there just waiting for you to come find it. Maybe you can bribe your friends to put together a search and rescue team. Whoever finds it first, gets a free tanner photo shoot. I know your friends are dying to get a cool floating head facebook profile pic too. Bryson and I do.

You must never give up! Hehehee just kidding. Those things are awful, but you bite the bullet and never talk about it again and of course buy another pair. Hey didn't you pray for super finding power like Grandpa would?
